Scraplifting

Paper and Digital Scrappers alike love to scraplift (use another layout as inspiration or even copy it almost exactly) and it is a prevalent occurence. It is considered an honor to have someone admire your work enough to want to replicate it in some way. This is much different than stealing ideas and passing them off as your own. Credit is given when the lift is a direct one. There is no need to give credit if you simply think of using buttons on a layout because you saw someone else do it. However, you will find friendships blossom when you let others know how they inspired you.

Here's a lift of mine:

I set a new year's resolution to do more lifting (layouts, not weights LOL!) so I was thrilled to find Susan's Digi Scraplift blog. She picked Auntie Pea's layout and I couldn't resist copying this amazing design! I even used the same quote and font.

I snapped this pic of my dd while we were at the zoo last September and it is one of my favorites of her.
